Claiming from the classroom

Today, 3 December, is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 

The students of the University of Burgos' own Degree of University Expert in Adaptive Skills, academic year 2022-2023 have prepared and read a manifesto on the occasion of the International and European Day of Persons with Disabilities.

One more step towards social inclusion

On 6 May, the graduation ceremony of the Expert Course for Young People with Disabilities took place at the University of Burgos. This course - given by the University of Burgos with the support of the ONCE Foundation and the European Social Fund - aims to help young people with disabilities find employment.

Researchers from the TUT4IND group gave a pilot course at the University of Calabria.

The TUT4IND project, funded by the European Commission through the ERASMUS+ programme and coordinated by the Faculty of Education of the University of Burgos, has developed a pilot course at the University of Calabria (Italy). During this activity, the results obtained during the months of work have been validated, as well as serving for the interaction of European teachers specialised in inclusion and technologies.

Second TUT4IND Multiplier Event

On 25 November 2021, the second multi-stakeholder event was held to raise awareness of the TUT4IND project, entitled "Transforming Universities into an Inclusive Environment for People with Intellectual Disabilities". The purpose of the event, organised by UC Limburg, Belgium, was to present the project, to present the progress in the development of the course for higher education teachers for the care of people with intellectual disabilities, and to introduce the attendees to the field of integrated intellectual disabilities in universities.

Activity University Expert Course UBUInclusion

On Thursday 9 December, a group of students from the University Expert Course UBUInclusion, together with Baccalaureate students from the Pintor Luis Sáez Secondary School, participated in an activity in which they were able to share experiences about their time at the University and other issues of their educational career.

WIDEN BOUNDARIES - ERASMUS DAYS

On the occasion of the Erasmus Days organised by SEPIE, the TUT4IND project has launched the initiative called "Widen Boundaries" which aims to learn about other initiatives related to intellectual disabilities in higher education, which are developed in other countries. 
This initiative consists in the publication of videos with testimonies of the people in charge of the projects. On this occasion we have:

TUT4IND Dissemination Event

On 24 April 2021, a dissemination event was held to raise awareness of the TUT4IND project, entitled "Promoting Inclusion in Higher Education".

The event was organised by the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança and was held via telematics, with a participation of more than 100 attendees.

First TUT4IND Multiplier Event

On 21 April 2021, the first of the four planned multiplier events was held to publicise the TUT4IND project, entitled "Transforming Universities into an Inclusive Environment for People with Intellectual Disabilities". The purpose of the event, organised by Fundación Aspanias Burgos, Polibienestar (University of Valencia) and the University of Burgos, was to present the project, making its aims known, and to introduce attendees to the world of intellectual disability integrated in universities.

ERASMUS DAYS and the UBU highlight the value of inclusion

Three days disseminating Inclusion from the Euroddip-e, Fordysvar and Tut4ind projects.

94.5% of the students were not aware of these projects.

On the occasion of the celebration of ERASMUS DAYS, a space for the dissemination of European projects and activities funded by SEPIE, the coordinators of EURODDIP-e, FORDYSVAR and TUT4IND, have come together to communicate to students the guidelines, progress and objectives to be achieved in each of the projects.

A manifesto to claim the rights of people with disabilities

The International Day of People with Disabilities is celebrated on 3 December.

On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, students with intellectual disabilities at the University of Burgos - through a project funded by ONCE, within the framework of the Operational Programme for Youth Employment 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Social Fund - drew up a manifesto to celebrate this event.

TUT4IND: Training University Teachers for the inclusion of people with Intellectual Disabilities

The Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) has awarded the University of Burgos the project “Training University Teachers for the inclusion of people with Intellectual Disabilities”. The project, selected by the ERASMUS + program, has the participation of partners from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium and Serbia and will receive a budget of 339,881 euros.
