Second TUT4IND Multiplier Event

18/05/2022

On 25 November 2021, the second multi-stakeholder event was held to raise awareness of the TUT4IND project, entitled "Transforming Universities into an Inclusive Environment for People with Intellectual Disabilities". The purpose of the event, organised by UC Limburg, Belgium, was to present the project, to present the progress in the development of the course for higher education teachers for the care of people with intellectual disabilities, and to introduce the attendees to the field of integrated intellectual disabilities in universities.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was held via telematic means and had a participation of 144 attendees, who expressed a very good assessment of the event. Three presentations were given by Hannah Boonen (Professional Development Strengthening Competencies to Teach All Learners in an Inclusive Learning Environment), researcher at the Inclusive Society experience centre UCLL University of Applied Sciences; Mieke Meire Individual Adapted Curriculum), educational supervisor at Kattholiek Onderwijs Vlaanderen; and Ja Daems (People with intellectual disabilities in adult education, achievable?). These presentations can be accessed via the project's YouTubechannel.

Still awaiting the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, two more face-to-face dissemination events are planned for Urbino (Italy) in April and Belgado (Serbia) in July. All information will be available on the project website (www.tut4ind.eu).
